Brent Williford, Geneva Carrell, Children Hurt in Car Accident in Buna, TX
Buna, TX -- December 26, 2022, Brent Williford, Geneva Carrell, and three children were injured due to an accident involving two vehicles.
Initial reports about the crash say that it occurred at around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of US Highway 96 and Business Highway 96. It involved two vehicles, said to be an SUV and a Honda car.
Statements from DPS officials appear to put 29-year-old Geneva Carrell in the SUV which was pulling from a stop sign on Business 96. Doing so, it crashed with the Honda said to be driven by 39-year-old Brent Williford.
Due to the collision, Williford, Carrell, and three children involved were taken to the hospital. The conditions of the victims wasn't specified, and investigations are ongoing.

My concern with a crash like this is folks don't often wait for complete investigations to make their judgments. But even when the facts seem clear, further investigations can always show there are more challenging factors to consider.
For example, I looked into a crash a while back where a man reportedly ran a stop sign and hit a truck. Weeks later, however, further investigations revealed that TxDOT had removed that stop sign earlier in the day while working. So how exactly did the victim run a stop sign that wasn't even there?
I'm not saying that happened here, of course, but the details currently available to the public leave a lot of room for speculation. It's important to fill those holes with clear evidence. Whether this crash was nothing out of the ordinary or the result of some unusual factors the drivers couldn't avoid, getting people the answers they need typically means ensuring there are investigations more thorough than a simple police report.
