Ronald MacDonald Killed in Truck Accident in Effingham, IL
Effingham, IL -- December 23, 2022, Ronald MacDonald was killed in the Effingham area due to an accident involving a semi-truck.
Initial reports said that the crash happened at around 4:00 p.m. along I-70 in the area of mile marker 103. It appears that 65-year-old Ronald MacDonald was in a pickup traveling along the interstate. News sources say that it appeared MacDonald had been driving for approximately 16 hours, and "it appears he fell asleep." This apparently led to the pickup crashing into the back of a semi-truck which was stationary on the shoulder due to apparent mechanical issues. MacDonald sustained fatal injuries.

I certainly don't have any information to suggest any series of events besides what's currently being reported. However, it's important folks understand why I also wouldn't take these details at face value. Nothing about this alleged series of events is unusual, but it would surprise people to see how many times I employed the use of independent investigators who found initial reports to be completely inaccurate. Why is that?
One thing to consider, for example, is that authorities don't often have the time or tools to properly investigate traffic accidents. As a result, they can fall into the trap of taking what appears to be the most obvious explanation and running with it. A driver supposedly driving for 16 straight hours could certainly lead to them falling asleep at the wheel. But if investigators don't rule out other possibilities, they might overlook something crucial. Medical emergencies, mechanical defects, tire blowouts, another driver that left the scene, road hazards, etc. Likely or not, there's a family out there that deserves answers. Can these reports alone truly say they know they're giving that family the full story?
