Izja Sejdiu Injured in 18-Wheeler Accident on SH 130 near Manor, TX
UPDATE (January 20, 2023): The injured Jeep driver in this accident has been identified as 49-year-old Izja Sejdiu.
Manor, TX — December 28, 2022, two people were injured after a rollover crash between a tractor-trailer and an SUV on State Highway 130 in Travis county.
Authorities say the incident happened around 6:00 a.m. on North TX-130 at Farm to Market Road 973. Preliminary investigation suggests a Jeep Cherokee was headed south in the far right lane of the roadway ahead of a Kenworth 18-wheeler hauling rebar. Investigators say the truck driver failed to control speed and hit the Jeep from behind, after which both vehicles ran off opposite sides of the road and rolled over.
Two people were transported from the scene to area hospitals, one by helicopter, for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

It's obviously concerning any time a report says a commercial truck rear-ended someone, but it's still important to investigate carefully and learn exactly why that happened. A wreck caused by simple driver inattention, say, might look the same as one where the truck lost traction on a wet road, but the implications of those situations might be very different. Learning the specific reason for the crash means there's far less room for ambiguity or conflicting explanations.
That last bit may sound cynical, but the unfortunate truth is that trucking companies are unlikely to shoulder the responsibility for their drivers' mistakes unless there's no alternative. If they can find a way to blame something else, they won't be shy about it. That's why full and thorough investigation is so important: Many people who felt their situation was too straightforward to dispute have been rudely surprised when a company argued to the contrary. Ensuring that doesn't happen means being armed with indisputable evidence, and unfortunately police investigations don't always take the time or care to round that up. Who'll make sure the victim's side of the story is told—and proven?
