Injuries Reported in 18-wheeler Accident on I-14 in Killeen, TX
Killeen, TX -- December 13, 2022, injuries were reported following a multi-vehicle accident along I-14 involving at least one 18-wheeler.
Investigators said that the incident took place along eastbound I-14 late Friday night. The exact cause of the crash remains unconfirmed. Details suggest there was an initial collision involving an SUV and a disabled vehicle. An 18-wheeler then hit those vehicles, blocking multiple lanes. Authorities reported injuries, but the injuries appeared to be minor.
I certainly hope that's true and that everyone was able to walk away from this more or less okay. But I always caution folks to take these wrecks seriously because the details initially following the crash aren't always telling the whole story.

Not even that long ago, a man came to our firm after suffering "minor" injuries. The news failed to mention that days later he could barely move due to excruciating pain in his back. Further tests showed that the supposedly minor injury was actually a ruptured disk in his spine that required surgery and months of back and forth with the insurance company to get him back on his feet. I'd hardly call that minor, and I'm sure others would agree.
Hopefully nothing so serious happened here, but it's prudent to hope for the best while preparing for potential challenges that may arise which the news overlooked.
