Commentary on Barry Wisdom Truck Accident in Miller County

When folks read about single-vehicle truck wrecks like this, they tend to just assume the driver was speeding, on their phone, or they fell asleep at the wheel. Those are certainly common factors, and I wouldn't suggest overlooking them. But are the investigators handling things experienced and well-equipped enough to ensure the victim's loved ones are getting the full story?

Barry Wisdom Killed in Truck Accident in Miller County, MO

I've been handling commercial vehicle wrecks for decades, and it would shock people to see just how flippant official investigations often are in these situations. For example, I can't remember the last time I looked into a truck wreck where police had already ruled out mechanical issues. Whether due to defects or a lack of maintenance, mechanical issues can be deadly. If they don't get proper attention from specialists, then something important could easily slip through the cracks.

If only to ensure victims and families get the answers they deserve, investigators that understand these important possibilities should have a chance to look into the details as soon as possible. Otherwise, there's no telling what may go overlooked.
