Commentary on Robert Wilson Accident in Iberville Parish
There are all kinds of factors that can lead to a deadly wreck like this, and while folks may be quick to assume the driver did something wrong, they must keep in mind that thorough investigations often show there's more to a commercial truck wreck than meets the eye.
One thing to consider, for example, is the condition and design of the truck itself. Sometimes a crash like this should be survivable, but poor design or corner-cutting manufacture cause it to take more damage than it realistically should have. I've even seen too many truck accidents where a driver who supposedly wasn't restrained (as officers allege was the case on I-10) actually was, but the seat belt broke or came unbuckled during the crash.
Unfortunately law enforcement is often ill-equipped to look into truck malfunctions or defects, which is why I try to shed light on them as much as possible so folks are aware of some possibilities authorities might otherwise neglect. Click below to read more.
