Orlando Zuniga Injured in Car Accident in Navarro County, TX

Navarro County, TX -- December 1, 2022, Orlando Zuniga was injured due to an accident where a vehicle crashed into a tree.

Investigators were called out to the intersection of FM 85 and FM 1129 at around 2:30 a.m.

Preliminary details suggest that 24-year-old Orlando Zuniga was the driver of a Chevy pickup which was eastbound on FM 85. The vehicle somehow went through the intersection, off the side of the T-crossing, and crashed into a tree.

Zuniga's injuries following the crash were said to be incapacitating. Right now, no details about the crash can be confirmed without further investigations.

The trouble with single-vehicle wrecks is people are quick to jump to conclusions and blame the driver. While many situations like this are due to driver error, there's no good reason to make assumptions. It only allows for more complex factors to go unnoticed, and that can be extremely harmful to the victims and families.

Take for example a situation I was discussing with a colleague recently. Police said a man ran a stop sign and caused a truck wreck. Weeks later, though, it came to light that TxDOT removed that stop sign while working but forgot to put it back. So how did someone run a sign that wasn't even there? Unusual as that is, experienced investigators know to leave room for these possibilities, and that's why they're often the better approach for crashes like this one.
