One Killed in Car Accident on N Central Expressway in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX — December 18, 2022, a 38-year-old man died in an early-morning auto accident on North Central Expressway in Dallas.
Authorities say the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. on North Central Expressway (US-75) near Southwestern Boulevard. Preliminary investigation suggests that a Toyota Corolla was northbound on the highway when it approaching the Southwestern Blvd bridge. The driver may have lost control for unconfirmed reasons and veered onto the left shoulder where the car made contact with the concrete median barrier. It then swerved right and passed through three travel lanes before it came to rest in the right lane.
Moments later a northbound Hyundai Sonata approached and crashed into the back-right quarter of the Corolla. After the impact both vehicles spun away before coming to rest.
The Toyota driver was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Hyundai driver reportedly sustained possible injuries.

Commentary on Dallas Car Accident on N Central Expy
There's no telling exactly what happened here yet, and in the absence of clear facts I must discourage too much speculation. It never takes long for people to decide someone was distracted, speeding, impaired, or some combination of those after reading about an accident at this time of night, yet in many cases it's eventually learned that something else entirely--something beyond anyone's control--was to blame.
Anything from wet roads to low visibility to vehicle malfunctions, with many stops between, could have been responsible for the damage done here, and in the end only clear facts and evidence should tell the story. I just hope authorities are able to piece together what happened and bring some answers to the people who need them.
