Commentary on Donald Gregory Jr. Truck Accident in Louisville
The most recent images of this intersection I can find appear to have a stop a sign on Logistics but not on the highway. That suggests, then, that a vehicle traveling on the highway would have the right-of-way. Does that mean the semi-truck here failed to yield? I can't say for sure without seeing clearer evidence, but it certainly raises some red flags about what happened here and what may come next.
But folks should always keep in mind that even in situations where authorities outright blame a truck driver for a crash, that doesn't make things open-and-shut. Victims and families almost always find there are unique barriers between them and a proper resolution. That's usually due to these incidents involving trucking companies or commercial insurance providers doing everything in their power to avoid responsibility.
I've dealt with hundreds of these companies, and I can say from experience just how many ways there are for them to try to avoid responsibility. Without the right tools and experience, anticipating and overcoming these barriers can prove challenging. That's why a prudent first step for the general public is to simply inform themselves about these possibilities and what potential steps there are to meet them head-on. I don't see any reason why that wouldn't be true with this tragic event, as well.
