Two Injured in Car Accident on South Loop 289 in Lubbock, TX

Lubbock, TX — December 17, 2022, two people were injured in a traffic accident on South Loop 289 in Lubbock.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 11:40 p.m. on the 2400 block of South Loop 289. Preliminary investigation suggests only that a vehicle may have been stopped on the roadside when another crashed into it for unknown reasons.

Two people received moderate injuries in the collision. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation continues. No further information is available at this time.

It's not exactly clear what happened here yet. Hopefully investigators are trying hard to fill in the blanks (Why was the first car on the roadside? Why did the other car hit it? How dark is that area at night? Were there witnesses?), as the people affected deserve to understand the circumstances of how they got hurt.
