Commentary on Coral Gables FedEx Truck Accident on Riviera Dr
News sources say the truck driver in this accident was seen by a local resident dropping off a package just minutes before her crash, and the resident said she seemed "just fine." If that's accurate then it seems like something very sudden befell the truck or its driver; investigators mentioned the possibility of a sudden medical emergency and that certainly needs consideration, as does any kind of malfunction or defect in the truck sending it off-course. Either of those might raise some questions about FedEx's practices, both in screening their drivers and maintaining their fleet.
To be clear, I read the same reports as everyone else. I'm not claiming to know more than they say, nor am I making any accusations. All I know is that a woman tragically lost her life under mysterious circumstances, and it's only right that the mystery be cleared up. Her loved ones deserve the whole story; the question is whether law enforcement's efforts alone can truly get to the bottom of what happened.
