Woman Killed in MSC Cruise Ship Accident near Port Canaveral, FL

Port Canaveral, FL -- December 15, 2022, a woman was killed several miles off the coast of Port Canaveral after falling off an MSC Cruises ship.

Right now, exact circumstances are still under investigations. Authorities said that the 36-year-old woman was a passenger on the MSC Cruise ship, Meraviglia. Somehow, the woman fell overboard roughly 18 miles off the coast. Rescue teams found the woman, but she reportedly succumbed to fatal injuries. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

This sort of thing isn't all that common, but it's indescribably tragic and obviously worth immediate investigations. Sometimes, things happen, and they simply can't be avoided. Other times, investigations can show a lack of safety procedures, a history of incidents, or other shortcomings the company involved failed to address. I certainly can't say what happened here, but I have little doubt there's a family out there that deserves some answers.
