Jason Hawhthore, Jerry Wall Injured in Crash on US-190 in Jasper, TX
Jasper, TX — December 11, 2022, Jason Hawthorne and Jerry Wall were injured when a JCSO vehicle and a pickup truck crashed on US-190 in Jasper County.
Authorities say the incident happened around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 190 and 96. Preliminary investigation suggests sheriff's deputy Hawthorne, 25, was headed east on US-190 when he saw an eastbound vehicle run the US-96 light. He allegedly started to U-turn in the intersection with his lights on when his vehicle was hit on its passenger side by Wall's southbound pickup.
Hawthorne was taken to a Jasper hospital where he was treated and released. Wall was transported to a Lufkin hospital, then transferred to Tyler for further care. The vehicle that allegedly ran the stop light was never caught or identified.
The investigation continues. No further information is available at this time.
