Commentary on Sophia Sanchez Firetruck Accident in San Marcos
With a crash like this, my main concern is how chaotic the scene was and what time, if any, was devoted to considering all possible contributing factors. Any serious wreck can present unique challenges. One involving a firetruck is only going to present more hurdles to overcome which could require more experience and equipment than police typically have access to. That's one of the reasons I always talk about the value of independent investigators after serious wrecks. Can police do proper, thorough investigations? Of course, but sometimes there's no way to know if they did until it's too late. Since getting people the help they need means getting clear answers, taking steps as soon as possible to ensure nothing slips through the cracks is almost always the prudent path forward.
