Commentary on Truck Accident in Tuscarora Mountain Tunnel
Right now there's no telling what happened here and there are still all kinds of variables to investigate before conclusions could be reached. Did someone just mess up? Reports say all traffic was funneled through there while the westbound tunnel underwent maintenance; were the tight quarters an issue? Did one of the trucks malfunction or blow a tire? Were other non-contact vehicles part of the problem? What, as they say, gives?
I read the same reports as everyone else, and while I'm not coming down on police for not having the whole story yet that means the public is frustratingly in the dark here. Hopefully law enforcement is hard at work connecting the dots, but if this is like many other commercial truck wrecks I've seen their efforts may come up short and the injured victims may not get the answers and help they deserve without someone else stepping in.
