Commentary on Car Accident on Collin Street in Corsicana
It's possible police only brought up alcohol because it's standard procedure to investigate it, but Texas has a big problem with drunk driving. It may very well have contributed to this crash. So what would that mean, exactly? Well, among other things, it could mean a local business is liable for the injuries suffered here. This is due to dram shop law, which says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Police don't always consider these factors, so perhaps it would be wise to ensure this incident finds its way into the hands of experienced independent investigators.
