Man, Woman Injured in Car Accident on Collin Street in Corsicana, TX

Corsicana, TX -- July 21, 2022, two people were injured after an accident where two vehicles collided on Collin Street.

Officials said that the accident happened at around 4:10 p.m. along North 24th Street at Collin Street.

It appears that a 48-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were in a Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling westbound along Collin. That vehicle crashed with a southbound Mini Cooper on North 24th.

Due to the wreck, the woman in the Mitsubishi had incapacitating injuries. The driver had non-incapacitating injuries. It appears the Mini Cooper driver wasn't hurt. Police said alcohol was being consider as a possible factor. Right now, no further information is available.

Commentary on Car Accident on Collin Street in Corsicana

It's possible police only brought up alcohol because it's standard procedure to investigate it, but Texas has a big problem with drunk driving. It may very well have contributed to this crash. So what would that mean, exactly? Well, among other things, it could mean a local business is liable for the injuries suffered here. This is due to dram shop law, which says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Police don't always consider these factors, so perhaps it would be wise to ensure this incident finds its way into the hands of experienced independent investigators.
