Commentary on Odessa Man Truck Accident on I-20 in Midland

Something that isn't entirely clear in these reports is where exactly the wrecker was and if it was clearly visible. If the truck was safely on the shoulder or if there were ample visibility devices such as emergency lights or flares, a reasonably prudent driver should be able to avoid a collision. But if the truck was hard to see or unnecessarily blocking the lane of travel, it's possible this truck driver was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the wrecker driver needs to be held accountable. While that may be something authorities have since clarified, it may take more thorough independent investigations to set the record straight.
