Commentary on Anton Sanchez Truck Accident in Hidalgo County

I often have people talk about wrecks like this one as though they have all the information they need to make their conclusions. That could be true, but they can't really know that right now. There could be all kinds of other complex factors to consider, and those can require far more thorough independent investigations.

For example, a colleague and I were discussing a crash recently where a woman crashed with a truck and was seriously hurt. Regardless of what caused the crash, her injuries were too severe given the relatively minor impact. Further investigations revealed she had a defective airbag, meaning her injuries were less the result of the accident and more the result of a manufacturing issue.

I'm not saying that happened here, but it's something that authorities would rarely catch in their typical investigations. That's why crashes like this are generally better off in the hands of independent accident reconstructionists. Getting people the help they deserve could depend on it.
