Commentary on Jeremy Morris Hit-and-Run in Dallas
Learning of yet another hit-and-run on Texas roads is always disheartening, yet it seems like every day there's a new one in the news. I may be a few months late in encountering this one, but the same frustrations apply--did someone really have so little regard for the victim and the law? Usually when that happens, it's eventually learned they urgently wanted to hide something from police. That could be warrants, drugs, drunk driving, or something else entirely, but in many cases there's just something they wanted to remain a secret.

Finding out which (if any) factor led the driver to flee could lead to unique consequences for them, but motives and consequences can only be determined after they're identified and caught. Simply keeping these reports in the public eye as much as possible is a vital step toward achieving that. Anyone from a family member or friend to a co-worker or even a total stranger could reach out if the right details spark some recognition. Whatever happens, there is still hope that the victim will see justice done.
