Commentary on Jorge Mario Garza Car Accident in The Woodlands
I know that people look at crashes like this and figure they know all the important details. That could be true, but it's important not to jump to conclusions. We simply don't know if we're getting all the facts here, and investigations from authorities alone may not be enough to shed light on what happened.
For example, reports here say one of the drivers was ejected due to not wearing a seatbelt. I've found over my career that the amount of times authorities say this and the statistics of how many people wear seatbelts just don't add up. While not exactly common, some incidents like this can involve defective seatbelts or other issues which cause the safety features to fail. Whatever causes a crash, a faulty safety device can be the far more important issue to address. Without the right experience and tools, that kind of information can easily slip through the cracks. Are proper steps being taken here to ensure that doesn't happen?
