Injuries Reported in Fiery Auto Accident on SH 87 in Fairmount, TX
Fairmount, TX — November 30, 2022, at least one person was injured in a fiery auto accident on State Highway 87 in Sabine County.
Authorities say the incident happened late Wednesday afternoon along Highway 87 near Farm to Market Road 3315 in Fairmount. Investigators released few details about the cause or circumstances of the crash, but said one vehicle was on fire when responders arrive.
One or more people were transported from the scene to a county hospital; one person was then airlifted to another medical facility.

Preliminary reports like these are why I so often caution people against thinking police or the news give them everything fit to know right away. There are few available details, and while I'm not coming down on investigators for not having all the dots connected so soon it does mean that nobody can really say what happened here yet.
Hopefully police efforts will be enough to figure that out and determine who or what caused the fiery wreck, but I've also seen more than enough "by the book" investigations fall short of finding the whole story.
