Commentary on Daniela Taques Sabas, Mark Laguna Accident in San Antonio
Right now there aren't many specifics about what happened here, but I have a feeling since this was a wrong-way crash that many people will jump to certain conclusions. However, it's best to let only evidence and facts tell the story no matter how preliminary details might look. Wrong-way collisions are typically caused by only a handful of things, but without knowing all the specifics no one can rule out something unusual like medical emergencies, poor visibility, or confusing signage.
Is it possible investigators will eventually learn the driver was just fatigued or maybe intoxicated? Of course, and they drew blood to test for alcohol, but assuming any such thing before results can say one way or the other only makes things worse. To make sure people get the answers and help they deserve, it's best serious wrecks like this are put in the hands of experienced professionals with the right tools and training to get to the bottom of things.
