Commentary on Car Accident on I-10 in El Paso

After single-vehicle crashes, particularly those that happen late on the weekend, folks have a tendency to decide for themselves that the driver did something wrong. Things like falling asleep, distraction from a phone, or even possible intoxication are mentioned as people jump to their own conclusions.

Sometimes their theories are eventually confirmed, and some might have have further implications beyond the obvious, but preliminary details should always be taken with a grain of salt. I've seen too many cases where police overlooked something critical in their hunt for a simple explanation, which is why independent experts should take a second look and be sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Anything from driver errors to a medical emergency to a defective part in the vehicle--with many stops in between--could be responsible for the damage done, and every possibility deserves careful attention. The most important thing is to get the whole story and to give the victim the benefit of the doubt in the meantime.
