Jonathan Miranda Injured in Car Accident on Babcock Road in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX — October 21, 2022, 30-year-old Jonathan Miranda was seriously injured in a car accident on Babcock Road in San Antonio.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Babcock near Bamberger Way. Preliminary investigation and a statement from the other driver involved in the crash suggest she was driving a Toyota RAV4 north on Babcock when Miranda allegedly sped through a southbound curve ahead. His Chrysler 300 sedan crossed over the center line as it exited the curve and crashed into the Toyota. Due to Miranda's injuries he was quickly transported from the scene and did not provide a statment.

Miranda was seriously injured in the crash. His two passengers and the Toyota driver were reportedly unhurt.

Commentary on Jonathan Miranda Accident in San Antonio

Police weren't able to get statements from everyone, as the victim was too injured and his passengers were in shock. Maybe everything shook out exactly as the Toyota driver said, but I can't help but notice that police also said she may have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time. I don't know how they concluded that, but they noted she refused to provide samples for testing.

That may be entirely coincidental or even irrelevant--a refusal to take a breathalyzer isn't an admission of guilt. I only bring the alcohol up because there may be more to the story than a man whipping around a curve too fast, and if so it's important that investigators find that out. In the meantime it's important that everyone receives the benefit of the doubt until just the facts can tell the story.
