Commentary on Truck, Motorcycle Accident on FM 2222 in Austin
When police bring up the possibility of the victim speeding, I certainly wouldn't discount it without clear evidence to the contrary. However, I'm always skeptical due to what I've seen throughout my career regarding victims who were on motorcycles. Simply put, a lot of people are negatively biased against motorcyclists, meaning they can jump to conclusions or believe false claims of them being reckless. It's just another reasons thorough investigations are so crucial for victims and families, and that often means pursuing experienced professionals independent of the police. Were those steps ever taken here?
