Man Injured in Truck Accident on Bayou Road in La Marque, TX

La Marque, TX -- July 14, 2022, one person was injured due to an accident where a commercial truck hit a man along Bayou Road.

Initial details said that the collision occurred at approximately 9:16 a.m. along Bayou Road off Colonial Street.

It appears that a 39-year-old man was standing next to a paver while a Mack truck was backing toward the equipment. Somehow, that truck backed into the man, pinning him to the paver.

The man sustained incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. No other injuries were reported. It's unclear at this time if the people involved here were co-workers.

Commentary on Truck Accident on Bayou Road in La Marque

It's challenging to envision a scenario here where the truck driver backs into someone against paving equipment but somehow wouldn't have simply backed into the equipment regardless of whether or not anyone was standing there. It's not exactly easy to miss an object like that, so how the hell was this allowed to happen?

Was the truck driver simply not paying any attention? Is this a work site with poor supervision or a lack of safety procedures? A man shouldn't have to worry about being crushed by a truck while he's working, so it's worth finding out what led this accident and how it all could have been avoided. Whether this was just some reckless truck driver or the result of hazardous work conditions, someone no doubt failed to take actions which would have prevented this man from being sent to the emergency room.
