Commentary on Truck Accident at I-10 & Sunshine Boulevard in Eloy

As clear as these facts may seem, it's important people recognize just how little we're getting in the way of details. All the reports say right now is that a car hit a truck, and then a truck hit the car. There's no word on the severity of the individual collisions, why those collisions happened, and whether or not they could have been avoided. Let me explain what I mean by all of this.

Eloy, AZ Truck Accident Kills 2 on I-10 at Sunshine Boulevard

A rear-end collision can often be the result of someone speeding or not paying attention. It can also be due to someone cutting them off or not having their lights on. Maybe the victim was swerving to avoid some reckless driver that left the scene. Maybe that collision was relatively minor, but the second truck hitting the victim was what caused the fatal injuries. Was that driver paying attention and going at appropriate speeds? Were the events so sudden they couldn't possibly react, or would a reasonably prudent professional have been able to avoid hitting the first two vehicles?

Even things like mechanical defects are worth considering when someone loses their life. Their loved ones deserve to know they're getting the full story, and these initial reports are a far cry from that. That's why there may need to be more thorough independent investigations to find out what exactly led to this tragedy.
