Commentary on Adam Rodriguez Accident in Seguin

Preliminary reports seem to provide more questions than answers. How long was the victim in the road before the vehicle passed through? Why were they there? Where did they come from before that? How visible were they? Is that area lit up at night? Was the driver awake, alert, and paying attention to the road? Were the vehicle's headlights on? Did other drivers successfully avoid the victim? Could or should anything else have been done to avoid the collision or reduce its damage?

I'm not accusing anyone of wrongdoing here or saying I know more than police investigators. I'm only saying what I so often do: Early reports about an accident are often full of holes investigators haven't had a chance to fill yet, so it's important not to take them as the final word on the matter. Depending on how much time and care police plan to devote to this, it may even be best to have independent experts with superior tools and training try to make more sense of it. The victim's loved ones deserve no less than the whole story.
