One Killed, Three Injured in Rollover Car Accident on I-35 in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX -- November 12, 2022, one person was killed and three people were injured due to a rollover car accident on I-35 Access Road.

Investigations say that the crash happened just after midnight along the I-35 Access Road near Palo Alto Road.

It appears that four teenagers were in a Honda Accord traveling along the access road. Possibly due to high speeds, the vehicle ran off-road. It then crashed and overturned.

Commentary on Rollover Car Accident on I-35 Access Road in San Antonio

It would not be unusual if speed was a factor here, but I'm always concerned that folks aren't giving the crash the attention it deserves whenever teenagers are involved. Folks are quick to blame them, especially in single-vehicle wrecks. But right now, there simply aren't any available answers.

For all we know, they had a tire blowout. Maybe roads were in hazardous condition. Maybe some other driver ran them off-road and fled the scene. It may seem like authorities would have said something if that were the case, but they overlook important information too often than is worth the risk. That's why my hope is steps were taken to have experienced investigators look into what all happened here.

Drivers deserve some benefit of the doubt until their families have the full story. I see no reason to make an exception just because the driver was young. In fact, that likely makes thorough investigations even more important.
