Commentary on Eduardo Miranda, Carlos Miranda Alleged DWI Accident in Harris County
It's not unusual for there to be few details available about such a serious crash, but even just the allegation of intoxicated driving can make things incredibly complex. That's partially due to the possibility there's an accomplice to all of this that has yet to be held accountable for their role in a man's death: a local bar.

Texas has what's called dram shop law, which basically says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. If investigations show alcohol was a factor here, and the driver was coming from a local establishment, the victim's loved ones deserve to see that business answer for any actions they took which contributed to the death of their loved one.
Folks in Harris County, especially, should be able to appreciate the importance of taking steps to fight against the scourge of drunk driving. It's not clear if this crash presents that opportunity, but getting a family the help they need and making our communities safer are more than good enough reasons to keep looking into what all led up to this crash.
