Passenger Injured in Pickup Crash on 22nd Street in Waco, TX

Waco, TX — October 10, 2022, a 36-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on 22nd Street in McLennan County.

Authorities say the incident happened around 7:05 p.m. on North 22nd at Colcord Avenue. Preliminary investigation suggests a Ford F-150 pickup was headed north on 22nd when some of its four occupants started fighting. The altercation in the truck may have distracted the driver, who ran off the road at the Colcord intersection and crashed into a tree on its northwest corner.

One passenger in the truck suffered serious injuries. The other three received minor injuries.

Officers reported finding multiple beer cans in the truck and suspected its occupants, including the driver, were drinking while traveling.
