This early in the morning, a major concern is going to be if someone was coming from a local bar. It's a dangerous time to be on the road precisely because bars close at 2:00 a.m., so plenty of drunk drivers are out there on the roads. But I don't bring this up just to look for blame to throw around. I bring it up because it can actually present a crucial yet challenging avenue through which victims and families can get much needed help.

Simply put, Texas dram shop law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Seeking out these businesses helps not only the victims and families affected by the crash but also the community that the business puts in danger. Are authorities giving this crash the attention it deserves so that the victims and families here have the opportunity to get the help they deserve?
