Commentary on Reymundo Rodriguez Accident in Laredo
Police don't seem too certain of why the victim crossed left of center here. They suggested alcohol might be a factor, but it seems pretty clear they guessed based on the general circumstances of what happened. If they pursue that possibility and evidence confirms the victim was intoxicated there might be further implications (and a way to help him recover) involved, but it's important to investigate carefully and thoroughly. Many things can send a vehicle off-course, and not all of them are within a driver's power to control.
If bad road conditions, a sudden medical emergency, a blown tire, or a vehicle malfunction caused the crash, then obviously it wouldn't be fair to blame the driver for his own injuries. The possibility that things are more complicated than they seem is why it's important to consider all potential factors instead of just fixating on common ones. Will police take the time and care needed to get to the bottom of this?
