Commentary on Tina Marie Jackson Truck Accident in Logan
While the exact circumstances surrounding this incident aren't entirely clear, these situations tend to come down to whether or not the truck driver reasonably could have avoided hitting the victim. Even if the victim didn't have the right-of-way (which we don't know at this time), there are some situations where a driver should still be able to see and avoid someone.
This doesn't appear to be some rural highway or cramped New York side street lined with cars. This is a clear intersection that is controlled by a light. Situations like this can usually be avoided, and if something like inattentive driving led to this tragedy, that's going to warrant significant consequences. Authorities alone may not be able to consider all the different possible factors surrounding this awful event,so getting the victim's loved ones answers may require more thorough independent investigations.
