Man Injured in Truck Accident on I-45 at FM 1765 in La Marque, TX

La Marque, TX -- July 14, 2022, a man was injured following an accident where a box truck and an SUV crashed on I-45.

Authorities said that the crash took place just before 5:00 p.m. along the southbound lanes of I-45 near FM 1765.

a 42-year-old Dallas man and a 46-year-old man were in an Isuzu truck traveling along the interstate. Ahead, an SUV was disabled in the roadway. The truck did not move in time, crashing into the SUV.

It appears the passenger in the truck was the only person injured in the crash. Police say they arrested the truck driver for not having a license. No further information is available at this time.

As straight-forward as all this may seem, something sticks out to me, and I wonder if authorities ever gave it close attention. Police allege the truck driver here had no license. What kind of truck was this, exactly? Was it just a rental? Did the driver not have their license on them, or are they totally unlicensed? If this truck belongs to an employer, why is it in the possession of an unlicensed driver? Would that hypothetical company have other drivers on the road unqualified to safely do their jobs?

Likely or not, these are important questions which often require independent investigations to answer. Getting help to those who need it means ensuring those answers come to light as soon as possible.
