Commentary on Ramon Santiago Accident in Deptford

It's not unusual for few details to be available so soon after a major accident like this one. However, it's also a point of concern whether the appropriate steps will be taken to get all those details. Quite frankly, authorities don't always have access to the resources needed to make heads or tails of something as complicated as a wreck with multiple commercial vehicles. Unless a department is particularly thorough when it comes to accident reconstruction, important details may slip through the cracks.

For victims and families who need and deserve the whole story, that simply won't do. Not only is it important for closure, but clear facts are needed to hold someone accountable if needed--particularly if the responsible parties are employees of a commercial entity with vast resources to tip the scales in its favor.

That's why I do what I can to talk about these serious crashes whenever possible. I certainly can't say what happened here as evidence is still being sought and assembled, but I know from 30 years of experience just how crucial it is for the right people to do the seeking. Victims and families should always have the right tools and allies to get the answers they deserve.
