Commentary on Kaufman County Accident on FM 148

Aside from saying two vehicles crashed and people were seriously hurt, there isn't really too much information available so far. However, I'd argue that's a good reason for the incident to be investigated by experienced independent professionals rather than making the victims all wait for the eventual police report.

That's not to knock the hard work of police, but in many cases waiting on them isn't the best option for victims in search of answers or help. Between competing priorities, limited staff and resources, and only so much time to devote to most wrecks, officers must sometimes rush through their investigation and crucial details may slip through the cracks. When that happens and their reports are incomplete or their conclusions wrong, it's the people hurt by the wreck who suffer.

Maybe that won't be an issue here and law enforcement will get to the bottom of things, but I think most would agree that the victims deserve to know no stone was left unturned. Any steps beyond getting the whole story for those who need it would depend on what that story is.
