Commentary on Ray Francois Truck Accident in St. John Parish

With a situation like this, it's crucial to figure out where exactly police got their information. Frankly, it seems unusual that someone would just make an immediate u-turn in the middle of the road. It's not unheard of, obviously, but did the victim use their signal? Were they u-turning or just making a left turn? Why wasn't the truck driver able to just slow down, considering it was going the same direction as the victim?

Simply put, there are possible scenarios where a truck driver could do everything right and still not be able to avoid a crash like this. There are other scenarios, however, where a reasonably prudent professional driver would have no issues avoiding this collision. Finding out what happened here may require far more thorough investigations than authorities are capable of conducting on their own. Are steps being taken here to ensure the victim's loved ones are getting clear answers?
