Pharr Man Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-35 in Austin, TX

Austin, TX -- September 20 2022, a Pharr man was injured following an accident where a tractor-trailer crashed along I-35.

Officials said that the incident happened at around 1:14 a.m. along I-35 in the area of FM 1327. It appears that a 34-year-old Pharr man was in a tractor-trailer traveling northbound on the interstate. Somehow, the semi drifted off-road where it crashed through a guardrail and onto the median.

The Pharr man sustained injuries said to be incapacitating. No one else appeared to be involved. At this time, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.

With crashes like this, I find people are generally too quick to simply blame the driver. As likely as it is they did something wrong, there are other possibilities which also warrant consideration. Something a lot more common than people realize, for example, is mechanical issues. Whether it's a manufacturing defect or an employer refusing to maintain their vehicles, a lot of drivers end up behind the wheel of a death trap. Could it be something like that happened here?
