Commentary on Brittni Kressin Guerrero Car Accident in Palacios

Something that stands out to me here is the fact one of the people involved seems to have been far more seriously hurt than anyone else. In fact, details suggest the victim was the only person hurt. Why is that? It could just be dumb luck, but sometimes it's a concerning sign that a safety feature failed.

Did airbags go off? Did seatbelts lock? Did their seat stay in place? Did the vehicle withstand the impact in a way which lives up to modern safety standards? Likely or not, these factors can cause someone to be seriously hurt when they otherwise would have been okay. If for no other reason than to ensure folks can get the help they need, more thorough independent investigations could prove necessary here.
