Shanna Roe Killed in Bicycle Accident in Lubbock, TX

Lubbock, TX -- October 12, 2022, Shanna Roe was killed due to an accident where a bicycle and a pickup collided.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 7:00 a.m. in the area of 82nd Street and I-27.

Officials said that 51-year-old Shanna Roe was on a bicycle when a westbound pickup somehow struck Roe.

Due to the collision, Roe had serious injuries and later succumbed to those injuries at a hospital. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

When it comes to a serious accident like this, my concern is if people are giving the victim any benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, folks are quick to blame pedestrians, cyclists, scooters, motorcyclists, and other non-typical travelers without even knowing all the facts.

It's certainly possible the victim did something wrong here, but how often do we hear about cyclists being run over because drivers aren't keeping a proper lookout?
