Woman Injured, Unborn Child Dead in Car Accident on Antoine Drive in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — October 12, 2022, a 19-year-old woman was injured and her unborn child died in a traffic accident on Antoine Drive in northwest Houston.

Authorities say the incident happened around 10:15 p.m. in the area of 5300 Antoine Drive at Golden Forest Drive. Preliminary investigation suggests a Volvo S40 sedan was northbound on the road when the driver started to turn left onto Golden Forest. While turning the driver failed to yield to a southbound Dodge SUV, which hit the Volvo on its passenger side.

The victim was sitting in the Volvo's passenger seat and suffered serious injuries. She was transported to an area hospital where doctors performed an emergency delivery of her baby, but the child did not survive. No other injuries were reported.

The Volvo's 19-year-old driver was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.
