Wharton, TX -- September 14, 2022, Daniel Ortiz Hernandez was injured following an accident between an 18-wheeler and a pickup.

Preliminary details said that the incident happened at approximately 11:47 p.m. at US Highway 59 and FM 1161.

According to investigators, 47-year-old Daniel Ortiz Hernandez was in a Toyota Tacoma traveling along the exit ramp from US 59 to FM 1611. It appears the pickup may have continued straight at a curve, crashing into the side of an 18-wheeler traveling through the intersection.

Hernandez was said to have incapacitating injuries due to the crash. No other injuries were reported. Additional details are unavailable at this time.
