Commentary on Victor Fierro Truck Accident in Andrews

When it comes to wrecks like this, folks often think authorities are just going to find who had the right-of-way, and that's that. Unfortunately, things are rarely ever that simple.

Not long ago, I handled a crash with similar details, and both drivers blamed the other for running the light. The investigating officer apparently didn't have the time or tools to properly investigate things, so he essentially left the victim out in the wind.

Fortunately, they contacted us, and it wasn't long until we tracked down a nearby store with security cameras that caught the whole thing on video. The footage showed the truck run the light, and that was that.

I'm not trying to say anything like that happened here, but folks are usually best served ensuring there are independent investigations to catch anything authorities may have overlooked. Were those steps taken here?
