Commentary on Stephanie Kaye Martin Truck Accident in Grayson County

If certain details here are what actually happened, it could be a good example of why I say all commercial truck wrecks are challenging. Folks tend to think attorneys with my experience are just out to get truckers. That's not really why I talk about crashes like this so much. Here, authorities say the trucker admitted to having and going through a red light. If true, that's the right thing to do--admit your mistake. But the family isn't likely to be dealing with a truck driver; they're likely going to deal with the company. How often do you think they admit to their mistakes? If you guess the chances were one in a million, you guess right.

The reason people seek out experienced truck wreck attorneys is because trucking and insurance companies have teams dedicated to avoiding responsibility. Many of their strategies simply revolve around undermining the victims at all costs. Whether it's blaming them for the crash or getting them to sign away their rights, there are many ways for companies to tilt the scales in their favor.

To be clear, though, I don't bring this up to scare anyone. I only bring this up so people know they need to prepare themselves. Until I see more information, I can't say what did or didn't happen here. I can say from experience, however, that I've come across countless reports like this. No matter how clear the facts seem, the way forward is often a legal maze that requires a lot of evidence and legal strategy to properly navigate. Are steps being taken to ensure those involved here can get to the other side and find the help they deserve?
