Beatriz Moreno Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX

It appears that 77-year-old Beatriz Moreno was in a Pontiac Solstice driven by 38-year-old Enrique Moreno. While approaching the light on northbound lanes of Kirby, police say that a westbound Ford F-150 attempted a left turn from westbound San Felipe. The pickup was said to have failed to control its speed, causing the pickup to lose control and veer into the northbound lanes. There, the pickup crashed into the front left corner of Moreno's vehicle.

Statements suggest that Beatriz Moreno had incapacitating injuries due to the collision while Enrique's injuries were said to be "possible." No other injuries were listed. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

Commentary on Beatriz Moreno Car Accident in Houston

Something that stands out to me in accounts like this is when it seems only one person was seriously hurt, and it doesn't appear they were close to the point of impact, at least relative to others involved. Now, the disparity in injuries could simply be due to the victim's age or some other reasonable factor.

However, it's always important to consider things like defective seatbelts or airbags. Not only would it be important to hold someone responsible for those avoidable injuries, but it would also be important to address the issue before others suffered similar fates. Unfortunately, this isn't the sort of thing authorities tend to look into on their own. That's why it's important to understand these shortcomings and to take steps to make sure experienced professionals looked into all the facts.
