Commentary on Melanie Maranise Car Accident in Jonestown

Something that stands out to me which may slip by others is that only one person was seriously injured here, at least according to officials. Either that claim is wrong, or there is some important information yet to be made clear.

Melanie Maranise Injured in Car Accident in Jonestown, TX

The reason this concerns me is that is can sometimes be a sign something went very wrong. While it can be simple dumb luck or someone not wearing a seatbelt, it can also be things like seatbelt failure, a faulty airbag, a seat back failure, poor vehicle construction, etc. Those are things which not only someone may not have control over, they could also be putting other lives at risk if left unaddressed. Were proper steps ever taken here to really dig into the disparity of injuries here?
