Commentary on Juliana Garcia Truck Accident in Grimes County

It's important to be cautious with crashes like these because the details aren't always as straight-forward as they may seem. Even with something like an apparent crossover wreck, steps should be taken to ensure all the facts are truly clear.

For example, I handled a crossover not long ago with similar details. Once we had independent accident reconstructions look into things, though, it came to light police made a mistake. It wasn't actually the victim that crossed the center line initially. The 18-wheeler drifted over first, so the victim swerved left to avoid it. The 18-wheeler then went back into its original lane, causing the vehicles to crash.

To be clear, I don't bring up this example to suggest something similar happened here. My point is rather that authorities are not always as thorough as folks may think, and that can lead to important details slipping through the cracks. Having experienced independent investigators look into things could be a crucial step forward for getting whatever answers and help can come from this situation.
