Commentary on Maria Miramontes Dump Truck Accident in Tolleson

There isn't much information about what happened here, and I want to caution folks that police saying they're "considering" impairment isn't exactly as damning as it may sound.

That could just be them looking into impairment because they always do it. It's also possible that they believe the victim was impaired. But the simple possibility a woman and a child were nearly killed due to an impaired truck driver makes it crucial to consider all the facts here.

Not only would that likely warrant severe consequences for the driver, but it could also reveal there's a company out there putting reckless drivers on the road and endangering the community. Are steps being taken here to get clearer answers about what happened? It may take more than a simple police investigation to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks.
