Valley View, TX -- September 18, 2022, Jose Gallegos Armendariz was killed and Raquel Ruiz Villanueva was injured after a car accident.

Officials were called out to the area of I-35 mile marker 488 in Cooke County. At around 6:35 p.m., police believe that 33-year-old Jose Gallegos Armendariz and Raquel Ruiz Villanueva were in a Ford E250 van traveling southbound on the interstate. Somehow, the van lost control, causing it to careen onto the median. There, the vehicle hit a pole and overturned.

Due to the crash, Gallegos sustained fatal injuries. It is believed that Ruiz Villanueva's injuries were non-incapacitating. The cause of the crash cannot be confirmed at this time.
